Ah, Florida …. palm trees and hibiscus, sandy beaches and below-freezing temps. HUH??? Yeppers, tonight we’re expecting the thermometer to plummet down to 18 degrees. In Florida. OK, admittedly this is north-central Florida and the occasional winter day in the 20s isn’t that uncommon (and we have more live oaks and azaleas than palms trees and hibiscus ;D). But still …. 18 is beyond the pale. Sucks. Everyone is running around like a maniac covering up tender plants … including me, the genius who thought a winter container garden was a great idea. Iced tomatoes on a stick, anyone? Well, in a few more months we’ll be bitching to high heaven about the heat and humidity, so until then, time to layer up and liquor up!

I Has a Blog! Whoohoo!

Haven’t posted anything in FOUR MONTHS …. I completely forgot I even HAD a blog until my LOLfren Janet said, “Hey, ur blog is MT,” and I’m thinking, “Holy crap, I has a blog!” Know why? Well, I’ll tell ya …. ‘cos I’m always over at sketchfu.com, my home away from home. NO, make that my home …. the home is where I freshen up before I head back to sketchfu! Having art back in my life, and having made great friends there, has brought major joy back into my life. And I can thank I Can Has Cheezburger for it … they had posted a link to it back in July and I checked it out just out of curiosity …. one look, and I was hooked, and there’s been no turning back. So I’ve neglected my LOLfrenz at ICHC but some of them do pop over to FU now and then … Gladys and SillyGram and Annie and Cara. Thank you, Cheez, for giving me the FU … Luv ya for it!

Do you like to doodle? Or actually have artistic talent? WELL … a link at I Can Has Cheezburger? led to me a site called sketchfu.com which is just wonderful. You can color and draw and cartoon and whatever all the livelong day (or at least, as in my case, your middle-aged, arthritic hands and bifocaled eyes give out), save them, publish them on the site, email them to your friends (although mine don’t seem to be getting to where they’re supposed to go) … BE AWARE, however, it is highly addictive!

So get doodling!

 Yet another day in paradise. Well …Florida in the summer? Maybe not paradise. You like temps in the 90s with humidity to match? Then this is your place. Can’t call ‘em dog days yet (that’s in August), but even the dogs don’t want anything to do with it. So you stay in the shade, under a fan, with a cool, tasty beverage, and you dream of winter, when you can bitch about the cold. Politics and religion divide people, but everyone likes to complain about the weather – the great equalizer.

Whoa…whoa…WHOA! What the hell just happened here? I push a few keys and bingo, bango, I got a blog? Truly bizarre. Mondo bizarro, in fact.
